LHSS Project Scale-Up of Local Capacity Strategy

Scale up of local capacity strategy

Scaling up local capacity and transitioning health system functions to local partners is essential for sustainable health system strengthening and achieving progress towards universal health coverage. By the end of the project, at least 20 percent of LHSS Project work will be implemented by in-country organizations, and public and private sector partners in host countries will have achieved measurably greater capacity to implement health system strengthening activities.

This strategy lays out how the LHSS Project will increase the technical and administrative capacity of local partners to design interventions, allocate or plan for resources, implement and monitor interventions, and efficiently manage their activities. It is intended to ensure that scaling up local capacity is central to the design and development of LHSS activities.
