LHSS Nigeria recently held a global knowledge strategy workshop in Abuja. The primary goal of the workshop was to evaluate and identify areas for improving health system performance influenced by LHSS initiatives. Participants collaborated in thematic groups, focusing on key performance determinants and sharing valuable lessons learned. This collaborative effort aimed to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of health system interventions in Nigeria.

The Ministry of Health and USAID's LHSS Project launches the Continuing Professional Development Online Training Platform in Jordan, providing health care professionals  with accredited courses for certification and relicensing.

This report evaluates the resources dedicated to telemedicine services in Ukrainian healthcare institutions. The primary goal of the study was to understand the current utilization of telemedicine and to analyze the costs involved, with a detailed focus on the components of these costs. The findings will support efforts to enhance the purchasing mechanisms for the National Health Service of Ukraine, paving the way for further improvements in telemedicine provision.

This report summarizes the findings of said assessment conducted by the MOH’s newly established Cabinet for Licensing and Registration of Health Activities with support from the Activity.

With LHSS support, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an Interagency Technical Working Group Coordination Meeting in Astana. Ministries of Health, Veterinary Services, Agriculture, and Ecology, alongside international organizations, discussed collaborative preparedness, human resource capacity for One Health, and joint disease investigation. 

With support from USAID’s LHSS Project, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MOHSPP) in Tajikistan strengthened Tajikistan’s national laboratory system and supported the country’s COVID-19 Country Preparedness and Response Plan.

To strengthen institutional capacities in the Mandatory Health Quality Assurance System of the Ministry of Health of Cúcuta, the Communidades Saludables of USAID and the Fundación Salutia delivered the Health Quality Management Model with its technological tool TGUÍA – IV.

LHSS in Ukraine is supporting improvements in the legislative and policy environment so as to enable expanded access to quality medical services using telemedicine. The analysis consists of 18 chapters and covers a wide range of topics, including terms and definitions related to telemedicine, its role in provision of medical care in different types of health facilities, rights and responsibilities of patients and medical professionals, and more.

The East African Community (EAC) Secretariat, the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), and the Pan African Health Informatics Association (HELINA) have concluded a commitment by all three parties to foster stronger health data governance to drive digital transformation and innovations in the health sector of East Africa. 

The Activity identified despite the many SBC interventions implemented in the communities, local organizations and especially the civil society organizations do not have sufficient capacity and resources to design, implement, and monitor evidence-based SBC activities. To address these issues, the Activity is partnering with a local organization to strengthen evidence-based design, implementation, and monitoring of SBC activities. The Activity is focusing on enabling local actors to lead implementation of an SBC activity while strengthening support for priority capacities.

This document explores the issues facing the Timorese health system, identifies the existing mechanisms for engagement between the MoH and CSOs, and offers recommendations to improve the engagement.

This summary review of social and behavior change (SBC) interventions was conducted to understand barriers to healthy behaviors in inclusive reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAHN).
