The case study in Senegal focused on practical experiences and lessons learned when expanding financial protection to socially excluded and vulnerable groups.

The case study shows the literature and previous work on health equity to identify promising approaches and strategies from Senegal’s experience to ensure more equitable financial protection, particularly for underserved and socially excluded populations.

This report is a health system assessment focused on HIV care services for Venezuelan migrants living in Peru. The assessment reviews secondary data sources; interviews with key informants, users, and professionals who are responsible for health facilities providing Antiretroviral Therapy (HF ART); observes visits to selected HF ART; and provides an overview of a self-administered survey to those responsible for HF ART in the country.

In this report, LHSS quantifies the demand for HIV commodities needed to provide adequate coverage for Venezuelans living with HIV in Peru and analyzes existing forecasting systems at the MOH to determine its accuracy in procuring and monitoring the distribution of key HIV drugs.

In Year 2, LHSS supported the work of USAID missions in 17 countries, with new activities launched in Bangladesh, Madagascar, Peru, and Timor-Leste. We also began work with the USAID Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean and we continued to expand our work with USAID Washington to enrich the global knowledge base on health system sustainability.
