LHSS Nigeria recently held a global knowledge strategy workshop in Abuja. The primary goal of the workshop was to evaluate and identify areas for improving health system performance influenced by LHSS initiatives. Participants collaborated in thematic groups, focusing on key performance determinants and sharing valuable lessons learned. This collaborative effort aimed to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of health system interventions in Nigeria.

The Forum of CEOs of State Social Health Insurance Agencies in Nigeria, supported by LHSS, trained 14 newly appointed SSHIA CEOs from various states. Experienced CEOs and health experts shared insights on managing health insurance ecosystems, advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), leveraging ICT, and stakeholder management. The sessions, particularly beneficial for those without a health insurance background, aim to foster cross-learning and support Nigeria's goal of achieving UHC by 2030.

This report evaluates the resources dedicated to telemedicine services in Ukrainian healthcare institutions. The primary goal of the study was to understand the current utilization of telemedicine and to analyze the costs involved, with a detailed focus on the components of these costs. The findings will support efforts to enhance the purchasing mechanisms for the National Health Service of Ukraine, paving the way for further improvements in telemedicine provision.

LHSS in Ukraine is supporting improvements in the legislative and policy environment so as to enable expanded access to quality medical services using telemedicine. The analysis consists of 18 chapters and covers a wide range of topics, including terms and definitions related to telemedicine, its role in provision of medical care in different types of health facilities, rights and responsibilities of patients and medical professionals, and more.

In Nasarawa, Nigeria only six percent of the population is enrolled in the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme. The training workshop with the National Orientation Agency aims to provide staff the requisite knowledge to improve awareness about the country's health scheme and boost enrollment. 

This workshop marks a significant step towards enhancing health care in urban Bangladesh by uniting the Local Government Division, 11 municipalities, and 3 city corporations in a shared commitment to improve access and effectiveness of primary health care delivery.

The Lagos State Civil Society Participation for Development (LACSOP) with support from LHSS held a budget consultative forum with civil society organizations across the state to discuss key recommendations for the Lagos State 2024 health budget. 

LHSS Bnagladesh is helping to identify and implement localized solutions to ensure that urban residents can access and afford high-quality primary health care services.

With LHSS support, the Ministry of Health in Ukraine is connecting health facilities with telemedicine equipment, training physicians and patients, and forging other parts of an impactful telemedicine system: policies, transparent financing arrangements for services, and agreed-upon roles among stakeholders.

The adopted strategy will improve the quality standards of medical care using telemedicine.
